This is David’s favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. He has a secret method of using the ingredients which do change the outcome of the recipe. Although, he said he will never share his secret; these cookies are still really good.
1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°F
Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
Beat butter, sugar(s), eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl until well blended.
Stir in flour mixture to make soft dough.
Stir in chocolate.
Drop by tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets (I usually just use a silpat on the cookie sheet).
Bake @ 350°F for 13 minutes or until golden brown.
