This is David’s favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.  He has a secret method of using the ingredients which do change the outcome of the recipe.  Although, he said he will never share his secret; these cookies are still really good.

  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  3. Beat butter, sugar(s), eggs and vanilla in a mixing bowl until well blended.
  4. Stir in flour mixture to make soft dough.
  5. Stir in chocolate.
  6. Drop by tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets (I usually just use a silpat on the cookie sheet).
  7. Bake @ 350°F for 13 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool on wire rack.
